FROM DREAM
TO REALITY
The Story of Calabasas Pickleball Club
Built on Friendship. Created for Players.
Long before there was a Calabasas Pickleball Club, there was a friendship. Brad Gold and Brian Lando met at Chaparral Elementary and have been close friends for more than 35 years. In 2020, they discovered pickleball—and what began as a new hobby quickly became a shared obsession.
They also recognized what the sport was missing in their hometown: high-quality courts, dependable open play, and a true home for the rapidly growing pickleball community. Rather than wait for someone else to build it, Brad and Brian decided to create the place they wished existed.
Turning that vision into reality required years of planning, substantial investment, relentless persistence, and navigating an approval process that often seemed impossible. On Memorial Day 2024, Calabasas Pickleball Club officially opened with 16 lighted outdoor courts across more than six beautiful acres.
From the beginning, Brad and Brian’s vision was about far more than courts. They wanted CPC to feel like a club in the fullest sense—a welcoming place where players of every level could compete, connect, make friends, and become part of a genuine community.
Today, CPC is a thriving destination built by players, for players—and Brad and Brian are still working to make it even better. What began as two lifelong friends falling in love with a sport has become something much bigger: the home of pickleball in Calabasas.
